If you listen to the media, knives seem to be a problem in the United Kingdom, where guns are almost impossible for civilians to own, but can it be true for the United States?
2018 shows rifles as the primary weapon in the commission of a homicide in 297 cases in the U.S., out of a total of 14,123 homicides. At the same time, a knife was used to commit murder in over 1,500 cases, more than 400 percent more than rifles.
Shotguns were used in 235 homicides, blunt objects in 443, while “personal weapons,” hands and feet, were used in 668 homicides. The data for all these categories has remained fairly stable over the years.
One of the main take-aways from the report is that those awful “black assault weapons” were actually responsible for 2/3 less crimes than hands and feet. Quite an eye-opener for the anti-gun crowd to consider, but we all know they’ll ignore it.
